2017 - současnost

The client wanted to strengthen his business in the online world, which meant a connection to Euromedia warehouses and a completely new tailor-made e-shop.

The Luxor bookstore network was established in 2001 and currently has 37 branches. It has the widest range of books on the Czech market, the LUXOR Book Palace in Prague on Wenceslas Square is even the largest bookstore in Central Europe. Apart from Prague, you will also find Luxor in Brno and in nine other cities throughout the Czech Republic. The client wanted to strengthen his business in the online world, which meant a connection to Euromedia warehouses and a completely new tailor-made e-shop. We therefore deployed our own e-commerce platform BIQ Shop and ensured that it would be able to use the data of the warehouse system.

CONNECTING WAREHOUSES AND TWO ERP SYSTEMS NAE-SHOP WAS A CHALLENGE FOR US

Euromedia has several warehouses, both wholesale and in individual bookstores and stores. The internal ERP system is Helios, which manages warehouses, the company uses two. All this had to be connected to the Luxor e-shop, including connection to external systems using the rest API.

E-COMMERCE AUDIT DOUBLED THE INCREASE OF USERS

efore designing the solution itself, we first performed an e-commerce audit. We connected to Luxor's data streams and found out where there was room for improvement. The audit focused on the analysis of user behavior and the purchasing process and the optimization of filters. This then led to a redesign proposal to increase sales.
  • We saw a more than twofold increase in users Immediately upon launch
  • The number of customers who bought repeatedly more than tripled

BIG SHOP WAS A CLEAR CHOICE THANKS TO THE BENEFITS OF MODULAR ARCHITECTURE

We decided to build the Luxor e-shop on our own BIQ Shop platform. It meets all the parameters for a modern system, not only with its stability, but also with the possibility of endless development and development of new functionalities.
  • How was the development carried out
For fast delivery of work, we used the agile Scrum methodology with 14-day sprints in the team. And what steps we have taken:
    • E-commerce audit
    • User testing
    • Filter optimization
    • Automated tests
  • A stable system for thousands of customers per day
Thousands of orders pass through the Luxor e-shop every day. We designed the system to withstand the influx of users and enable fast loading of products, which are on offer in the tens of thousands. This is because any delay can mean significant business losses.
  • Unique system for calculating the delivery time
We have implemented a system on the Luxor e-shop that is unique in e-commerce. It can calculate the delivery time based on the type of transport, thanks to the use of data on individual dispensing points, stores and warehouses. It can calculate the duration of the journey from a specific warehouse to the address of the consignee or consignment post.
